Serving Your son's individual learning style
Blue Ridge School’s Fishburne Learning Center has been a leader in the field for more than 30 years. Its learning specialists are highly trained, experienced, and dedicated to your son’s success in high school, college, and life.
Dr. Alexander Keevil, co-director of the learning center, experienced his own learning differences as a boy and takes special pride in helping his students identify needs, develop skills, practice techniques, and celebrate success. He says, “Seeing my students progress throughout the year is incredibly rewarding, especially seeing them develop the self confidence they deserve to have in and out of the classroom.”
Our learning specialists work with students individually and in groups of two or three to hone skills needed in their mainstream classes at Blue Ridge School. Students also receive guidance during evening study hall and have opportunities for additional support during midday meeting period.
Blue Ridge School’s supportive campus culture removes the stigma learning center students have at other schools. Many of our learning center students become student leaders and mentors to classmates.
