International Students
Live Life as a Blue Ridge Boy
International students at Blue Ridge School are immersed in American culture and education through our all-boys, all-boarding environment. Classes are taught in English, with our English Language Learners (ELL) program providing support. Each international student lives with another student who does not speak the same native language, so boys can practice their English in a friendly environment. The learning goes both ways, too. Our international student coordinator introduces boys to each of the more than 20 cultures represented in our school through on- and off-campus events so that everyone can share their native knowledge. Making sure our international students become integrated and respected members of our school community is one of the things we do best.
Blue Ridge School also helps boys and parents navigate the American school system with help from our international student recruiter. We can help with the I-20 and VISA application process. We have a dedicated counselor who guides students through the application process for universities around the world. And we also help international students make arrangements for long school holidays, whether by providing transportation to and from international airports in Richmond and Washington, or by facilitating other plans the boys may have. During their time at Blue Ridge School, we are the boys’ home and we want it to feel that way.
Study International says Blue Ridge School provides an environment for boys from around the world to grow in self confidence, leadership, academics, and brotherhood. Read more about the success of international students here.
