Cathy Boyd has joined the Blue Ridge School Office of Institutional Advancement as the Director of The Baron Fund. She comes to the School with many years of experience in fundraising and a background in single-sex boarding education. Prior to joining Blue Ridge School, Ms. Boyd was the Director of Education at Emmanuel Episcopal Church and then Senior Development Associate at the Southern Environmental Law Center. She began her career in advancement at her alma mater, St. Margaret’s School, as the assistant in the development office. After teaching English as a Second Language at three high schoools in Japan and at St. Timothy’s School in Maryland, she moved to Charlottesville and joined the Annual Fund team at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
The Baron Fund is Blue Ridge School’s annual fundraising campaign, which supports nearly every aspect of the student experience, including academic programs, co-curricular activities, scholarships, athletics, residence life, and more.

Ms. Boyd has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in education from Mary Baldwin University.
