BRS Names New Director of Parent Relations

Elaine Alexander

Blue Ridge School is pleased to announce the appointment of Elaine Alexander as the new Director of Parent Relations and Communications. Elaine brings considerable experience working at independent schools in Virginia that will allow her to be a wonderful resource and advocate for the parents of our students.

“I’m thrilled to become part of the Blue Ridge School family and eager to bring my experiences to this very important role,” says Elaine of the news.

Elaine previously worked in admissions as well as parent and alumni volunteer coordinating at Woodberry Forest. For many years, she was also an active liaison for parents of boys attending the Woodberry Forest summer sports camps. Elaine’s considerable experience in independent school administration also includes serving for three years as the Director of Development at Grymes Memorial School.

Associate Headmaster for External Affairs Franklin Daniels says, “We are very excited to welcome Elaine to Blue Ridge. I’ve known Elaine since 2012 and always admired her work, her poise, and genuine care for the students and families she serves. She will be a wonderful and important member of our great team.

“Parents are our partners in the education of students at Blue Ridge, and Elaine has a great understanding of how to sustain parents’ involvement in their son’s lives and in their School,” adds Headmaster Trip Darrin. “I am looking forward to having her work closely with the Parent Association and to create engaging events and programs for our parent weekends and throughout the year.”

Elaine and her husband Clint will be moving to campus from Michigan to begin working at the School this summer.
