Following a nationwide search, Blue Ridge School has named Clint Alexander as the new Head Football Coach. Alexander is an accomplished coach and teacher, most recently as Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Grand Blanc High School in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Previously, Alexander coached 12 seasons at Woodberry Forest School in Virginia.
“From the moment I met the staff at Blue Ridge I was impressed by their commitment to the boys and kid-centered vision. They all share a passion for Blue Ridge and the mission of the school,” says Coach Alexander.
Alexander led the Grand Blanc Bobcats to a 12-1 record last season, including district and regional championships and reaching the state semifinals for the first time in school history. He became the Bobcats Head Coach in 2017 and finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 36-15.
Alexander is no stranger to Virginia or coaching at an all-boys, all-boarding school. As Head Coach at Woodberry Forest, he had an overall record of 83-32-1, and established the football program as one of the best within the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.
Blue Ridge School Athletic Director Parker Kirwan says “I am thrilled to have Clint as our next Head Coach. His experience and dedication to student-athletes fits perfectly with the Blue Ridge School mission. I have no doubt that he will lead our program to great success.”
“Clint’s reputation as a coach and mentor is outstanding,” adds Blue Ridge School Headmaster Trip Darrin. “Not only do we expect him to have great success on the field, we know he will play an important role in our character education programming and will bring out the best in our student-athletes.”
Coach Alexander and his wife Elaine will move to Virginia following the conclusion of this school year. He will take over the Baron football program for the 2022 season this summer.
