Honors Service

The 2017-2018 Honors Service was held Sunday, May 20, in Gibson Memorial Chapel. At this Blue Ridge School tradition, awards and student leaders for the 2018-2019 school year are announced.

The service began with a welcome by Headmaster Trip Darrin.

Next, student Body President Jaab Veskijkul presented Ms. Hilde Keldermans with the 2018 Faculty Award.  Jaab noted Hilde’s love for and dedication to her advisees as well as her constant involvement with all school activities over the past six years.  During that time, Hilde attended nearly every on-campus event as well as many off-campus events to record and publish student achievements.  Jaab presented Hilde with a silver platter and a check provided by the Parent Association, and he wished her well as she plans to move to Colorado this summer.

The Chapel Service Awards were presented to Jaab Veskijkul and Franck Germain for their excellent dedication throughout this year to chapel services. Rev. West announced that Sacristan will be Jack Dicky, the verger will be Andrew Landman and Chris Knight will serve as Crucifer next year.

Assistant Headmaster for Co-Curricular Programs Vinton Bruton presented the underclassmen 2017-2018 Citizenship Awards.

The Freshman Citizenship Awards were presented to Marquis Roberts, Cole Kennedy, Ryan Wills, Hibiki Sakurai, Peter Sun and Adam Thistlethwaite.

The Sophomore Citizenship Awards were presented to (front row) Tramell Thompson, Rames Graves-Coleman, Mike Han, Andrew Jorgensen, Yuto Hiraki, and Keegan Kozack; (back row) Iceysis Lewis, Andrew Landman, Kewley Cameron and Levi Moss.

The Junior Citizenship Awards were to Chris Rogers, Wai Kwan Ng, Alex Dillard, Khaled Aburamadan, Bryce Aylor, Keane Emmans-McGill, Myles Ham and Shaun Anderson.

Dean of Students Tony Brown announced next year’s student leaders:

Sophomore class representatives – Adam Thistlethwaite and Kai Liang

Junior class representatives – Mike Han and Andrew Jorgensen

Senior Student Body Representatives – Paul Du, Howard Jiang; and Student Body President Khaled Aburamadan

Residence Life Director Hans Hermanson announced that next year’s Proctors will be (front row) Levi Moss, Keegan Kozack, Andrew Jorgensen, Jack Lutzker, Cameron Kewley, Yuto Hiraki, Mike Han and Andrew Landman (second row) Sam Bennett, Tramell Thompson and Iceysis Lewis.

Disciplinary Committee Chair Matt Bennett announced next year’s committee members will be Bryce Aylor, Selby Morgan, Wai Kwan Ng and Shaun Anderson.

Honor Council Chair James Niederberger announced next year’s committee members will be (front row) Phil Chen, Logan Marshall, Ward Carroll, Howard Jiang and Zain Bankwalla; (back row) Khaled Aburamadan, Abdullah Al Saud, Paul Du and Chris Rogers.

Headmaster Trip Darrin announced the 2017-2018 Prefects are Khaled Aburamadan, Chris Rogers, Sammy Fort, Tristan Adams, David Ayriyants, Bryce Aylor, Caleb Werner, Wai Kwan Ng and Myles Ham (not pictured, Ernesto Torres).
