A variety of summer programs offered by North Carolina A&T ranging from athletic camps to academic camps.

Emerging Journalists Program at Elon

For students curious about what it means to be a journalist, reporting and producing news that informs communities, the Emerging Journalists Program at Elon University provides the ideal platform to explore their media interests.

Syracuse University Pre-College Programs

A variety of summer college programs that can help students build a resume or portfolio, enhance college applications, and even try out a major before committing to one. Programs are offered on Syracuse campus as well as in NYC and LA. 

Bentley University Pre-College Programs

A pre-college program at Bentley University provides rising high school juniors and seniors with a taste of college academics and offers a chance to experience residential life and explore a university community. By immersing themselves in a rigorous yet supportive learning environment, students can gain valuable insights into their academic interests and career aspirations.

Babson Summer Study

Babson College offers both online and in-person programs aimed at cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset and developing problem solving skills. Additionally, students will assess their abilities and passions and determine which ones they wish to pursue.

Engineering Preview at Columbia

The Engineering Preview at Columbia (EPC) is a selective, three-day, two-night program for students interested in learning more about Columbia Engineering’s unique educational experience. EPC is designed to serve students who may have had less formal exposure to engineering. This fully funded experience includes hotel and travel arrangements for students and one parent/guardian.

National Student Leadership Conference
Interactive summer programs in a wide range of subjects at 14 universities across the country. Programs include biological sciences, law, business, engineering, and art.

Boston University – Summer Journalism Academy
The Summer Journalism Academy is a three-week, on-campus, hands-on experience for high school students interested in journalism, writing or photography — a unique opportunity to expand their skills and prepare for college.

William & Mary Pre-College Program
The Pre-College Online Program is designed for high school students ages 13 and up, and offers a range of compelling topics, covered in-depth, through online coursework led by William & Mary professors.

Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation
A variety of online and in-person programs for students interested in engineering and STEM fields. 

US Naval Academy Summer STEM Program
Thinking of a career as a coder, game developer, designer, or robotics engineer? At the Naval Academy’s Summer STEM Program you’ll work with students from all over the country as you test your problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration skills.

University of Michigan Joy of Coding Camp
During this online program students use Python to learn how coding powers Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, and Siri…and even learn how to code their own Snapchat lenses! No prior coding experience necessary. 

Arete Summer Program at The University of Dallas
Students will enroll in an intensive two-week college experience as residents on UD’s Irving campus. By studying important classical texts, students will develop the indispensable reading and writing skills for advancing their college aspirations and will earn three hours of college credit.

The Black College Institute at Virginia Tech
The Black College Institute hosts talented, high-achieving, and academically curious rising high school juniors and seniors. For 2023, all three sessions will be held in-person over a 4-day period for rising juniors and 5-day period for rising seniors.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Accounting Careers Leadership Institute
The Leadership Institute is a week-long, hands-on opportunity for Latino/a and African American juniors in high school to learn more about the accounting profession and about the key role accountants play in society.

Bucknell Academy Summer Experience
Bucknell Academy Summer Experience (BASE) is a collaborative residential experience where students are invited to explore the value of a liberal arts perspective in making challenging decisions to improve today’s world. At BASE, faculty and students from various academic disciplines will engage in classroom discussions in an effort to come up with creative solutions.

Volunteering at PALS
PALS is a nonprofit organization who creates immersive experiences where young adults with Down syndrome and their peers have fun, grow as individuals, and build transformative friendships. They do this through camps around the country with a one-to-one camper-to-volunteer/counselor model. PALS is looking for summer counselors; your son could be one of them!

Ingenuity Year: Climate Change in Coastal Maine
Ingenuity Year is a gap semester program based in Coastal Maine and developed for students with learning differences who want to take their learning out of the classroom and engage with the world. It’s for students who want to understand who they are as learners and as humans, and who want to use that understanding to learn better.

Free Summer Court Camps
As summer approaches, middle and high school students can choose from catalogs of camps that promise to improve everything from language skills to layup shots. Federal court camps prepare participants to be informed and engaged citizens in every walk of life, and at no cost. Camps are available in Connecticut, New York, Minnesota, Louisiana, and Wisconsin.

Summer of Engineering Tech
From camps in Big Data to Quantum Computing, don’t miss out on your opportunity to learn an exciting new emerging technology this summer and even find a new passion in STEM! All of TCS’s summer camps are live, virtual, and taught by leading researchers in their respective fields. They range anywhere from 1-5 weeks and have no prerequisites!

Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists (PROMYS)

To be eligible, students must have completed at least 9th grade (or its equivalent) and be at least 14 years old by the start of the program. Students may attend during the summer between high school and college or during a gap year.

MathCamp

Canada/USA Mathcamp is an intensive 5-week-long summer program for mathematically talented high school students, designed to expose these students to the beauty of advanced mathematical ideas and to new ways of thinking. 

Stanford University math camp (SUMaC)

Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC) welcomes a select group of rising high school juniors and seniors from around the world for intensive study in advanced mathematics.

Carnegie Mellon Summer Academy for Math and Science

Providing opportunities for students from underrepresented communities to explore STEM-related fields. SAMS is a fully funded, merit-based program. There is no cost for scholars to participate. 

Ohio State Ross Mathematics Program

The Ross Program is a 6-week intensive summer experience designed to encourage motivated pre-college students to explore mathematics. During those weeks, students are immersed in a world of mathematical discovery.

U of Michigan Math and Science Scholars

A Summer Enrichment Program for Current High School Students; a program designed to introduce high school students to current developments and research in the sciences and to encourage the next generation of researchers to develop and retain a love of mathematics and science.

Brown STEM for Rising 9th and 10th Graders

If your idea of summer fun is a deep-dive into the STEM fields, join other rising 9th and 10th grade students who are as passionate about advancing their knowledge of the STEM disciplines as you are for two weeks of hands-on team research projects, experiments and design-build challenges.

Tau Mu Lambda Research Scholars Program 

Tau Mu Lambda’s High School Research Program offers high school students opportunities in STEM and science research under the guidance of university researchers. For more than 15 years, TMLHSRP has provided selected research-oriented high school students the opportunity to work with researchers during the Fall, Spring, and Summer.

Summer STEM Fellowship

The Summit STEM Fellowship is a virtual summer program bringing together top rising 9th-12th grade students around the world. As a Summit STEM Fellow, students learn from top mentors at Harvard, Stanford, and MIT and explore diverse opportunities and career pathways in STEM. The fellowship is a flexible 10-15 hour weekly commitment, and students may participate alongside other summer commitments.

James River Association

Led by James River Association environmental educators, these programs offer both land-based lessons and introductory paddle experiences for middle and high school students, connecting youth with the river to inspire confidence, ecological understanding, appreciation for nature, and conservation action. Many activities are field-based, interdisciplinary, and use the context of the James River to bring complex concepts to life.

MIT Research Science Institute

Each summer, 100 of the world’s most accomplished high school students gather at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the Research Science Institute (RSI). RSI is the first cost-free to students, summer science & engineering program to combine on-campus course work in scientific theory with off-campus work in science and technology research.

Perimeter institute Online GoPhysics! Workshops for Students

Ready to learn more about the amazing world of physics?  Perimeter Institute’s GoPhysics! Workshops gives curious high school students the opportunity to use their high school physics to dive into modern physics topics. 

World Scholars Academy

World Mathematics Academy is a two-week course introducing high school students ages 15-18 to proof-based mathematics and is designed and taught by a world-leading instructor. Whether you are already set on a career in a mathematical discipline such as engineering, computer science, or quantitative finance, or if you simply want to expand your mathematical horizons and abilities, World Mathematics Academy will provide you with key insights into the world of mathematics and how to excel as a student in the field.

Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Summer Programs

Choose from more than 70 in-person summer courses that are all taught by expert instructors. CTY’s on-campus programs allow young scholars to expand their knowledge surrounded by a community of peers who share their love of learning.

Yale Summer Session

Yale Summer Session provides academically rigorous and innovative undergraduate programs and courses to Yale and visiting students across platforms and around the world. Students come to Yale Summer Session to take Yale College courses in New Haven, online, or abroad or to hone their craft at the Yale Writers’ Workshop or in the Summer Drama Program.
